What exactly counts as a game in today's world? Supposedly, it is some sort of situation that one or more people participate hoping to come out triumphant over the rest. The world of dating is no exception to the rules of games. There are plenty of games that young daters play these days.
These games of cat and mouse can often times be fun and are even healthy, but they can go too far or simply be more harmful to your ultimate goal (the capture of the cutie) than helpful. How do we decide which games are not worth playing in the world of dating?
"Who Ever Talks First Loses"
Do you remember playing that game as a kid? Seriously, you all sat around staring at each other. Someone would giggle, and another would scream "You laughed, you're out!" It seems so bizarre and immature when you get older, and yet, sometimes we play this game in a more sophisticated form.
Who is going to make the first phone call after a really great date? If the date goes awful, assume it's best not to call at all. However, this little thing called PRIDE happens to start to play a starring role in the dating game, and while you should never lose your pride while dating someone, you shouldn't let it get in the way of actually dating them!
Often, guys and girls like to see who will call first. It's this creeping little feeling in the back of your head that makes you think that if you are the first to dial your best-date-ever that you will be weak, and thus assume the role of the weaker one in the relationship from then on. And, sure, if you call within two steps of saying good night to them, you will seem something, but it's more like crazy.
The most successful relationships are the ones that are authentic and real. If you felt some really strong connection and you want to tell the person you'd like to see them again, go ahead and do it! Sometimes, we wait, while the other person waits by the phone, and next thing you know, we both assumed the other is not that into us. Take the risk in being the loser in this case, because if you don't, you may both end up losing out on each other.
